Quilts and Covers
This is the guild's charity quilting corner. Our guidelines say finished quilts should be no less than 36” x 36” and usually not bigger than twin size but bigger quilts are still welcome. We have given finished quilts to Boys Town foster kids, Sienna Francis House, Project Hope, hospice houses, Police departments to keep in their cruisers, tornado victims, and many other places.
We are looking at starting a Quilts & Covers very small group (3-5 people max) to meet once or twice a month to work on cutting, putting kits together, sewing, and quilting. If you are interested in being a part of this small group, please contact one of our coordinators.
We are also, always, in desperate need of quilters! If anyone is willing to quilt, we would love to get you set up with some quilts! They don’t need to be quilted on a long arm, they can be done on a domestic or even tied! It doesn’t have to be anything fancy, we just need them quilted. The quilting stage continues to be our bottleneck and we will take any help we can get in that area. I’m happy to bring quilts to people over the summer months, or in between meetings as well.
