Block of the Month for 2026-2027
"In Flight" Block of the Month information
The Cottonwood 2026/2027 BOM this year will be a total of 9 - 12" finished blocks. All 9 blocks will contain flying geese, OH NO! you say, yes, flying geese! These flying geese will be so easy and so perfectly made you will want to make extras! The first month's pattern will include instructions for the oversized and trim down 4 at once method to make flying geese. I will also include a setting pattern with the November BOM pattern so you can get a head start on it while we are on winter break in December.
Sign up at the August meeting and block instructions will be sent via email following the meeting. There will be 1 block pattern sent out in August 2026, 2 block patterns sent out in both September and October 2026, 1 block pattern along with the setting instructions in November 2026, and 1 block pattern sent out in January, February and March 2027.
There is a $5.00 fee to be paid when you sign up which will cover a prize fund for the Viewers Choice voting at the May meeting.
Rules:• Register and pay the $5.00 fee.• All 9 blocks must be included in your quilt or wall hanging.• Blocks can be resized from the 12" finished pattern size.• Use the provided setting emailed in November or any setting of your choice.• Add any creative elements you desire as long as you include the 9 monthly block patterns.• Turn in at the April 2027 meeting for your quilt top or completed quilt. (You do not need to have it quilted and bound by the April meeting).• Viewers Choice voting at the May 2027 meeting.
